Anaemia is a condition that occurs when the body’s red blood cell count is less than normal.
Red blood cells contain haemoglobin, an iron-based protein that helps blood cells carry oxygen.
When you are anaemic, your blood fails to supply proper oxygen to your organs and tissues.
The bone marrow manufactures the red blood cells and replaces the dead ones with the new ones. Sometimes the red blood cells get destroyed quicker than their normal life span and the bone marrow is unable to produce enough red blood cells in order to fill the gap. As a result, the oxygen carrying capacity of the blood is distinctly reduced causing Anaemia.
Common symptoms includes
Fatigue, pale skin, a fast or irregular heartbeat, shortness of breath, chest pain, dizziness, cognitive problems, and headaches, lack of energy, hair loss and high/low blood pressure, spoon shaped nails.
