Anaemia is a condition that occurs when the body’s red blood cell count is less than normal.

Red blood cells contain haemoglobin, an iron-based protein that helps blood cells carry oxygen.

When you are anaemic, your blood fails to supply proper oxygen to your organs and tissues.

The bone marrow manufactures the red blood cells and replaces the dead ones with the new ones.
